From the Candidate

A Paraprofessional in Special Education. A Union Organizer. Fighting for the Schools Our Values Demand.

In a moment of escalating attacks on public education, Cambridge must become a national model of what truly progressive governance can achieve. I’m running to help build it.

My perspective is dual: as a paraprofessional at the Fletcher Maynard Academy, I saw our system’s inequities from the inside. As an Amherst College graduate and holder of a Master’s in Urban Policy and Planning, I learned how to design the solutions to fix them.

My platform is a direct response to national neglect: we will fully fund our schools by making large commercial properties and universities pay their fair share. This will generate over $137 million annually to hire more staff to improve educator-to-student ratios, pay staff living wages to recruit higher quality staff, and ensure every school has the mental health supports it needs.

I am fighting for:

  • Tax Justice: Raising commercial tax rates to fund our schools without burdening residents.
  • True Equity: Improving our school controlled choice system to end its segregating effects and replacing it with well-resourced neighborhood schools.
  • Democratic Schools: Giving educators and parents real power over budgets and policies through participatory governance.

I’m asking for your vote to build a Cambridge that doesn’t just talk about its values, but resources them.
