From the Candidate
I’m Caitlin Dube, a professional educator, strategist, community advocate, and proud Cambridge parent. I’m running for School Committee to help build the best school district in the world, where every student can flourish and every family feels at home. A longtime K-12 classroom teacher and administrator, I understand schools from the inside out.
I now put that experience to work by building schools and advising districts on innovative, equity-driven paths forward. A graduate of Harvard College, Columbia University, and the Harvard Graduate School of Education, I combine local knowledge as a CPS parent with nationally recognized work in creating innovative, equity-driven curriculum and schools.
I love living in Cambridge. I have served as Parent Co-Chair of the Baldwin School Council, on the Cambridge Commission on the Status of Girls and Women, and I work regularly with CRLS and CPS on programmatic and curriculum design. I’ve also founded two no-cost youth leadership programs that give Cambridge students opportunities to lead, learn, and create change across the city.
My vision for Cambridge schools rests on six priorities:
1. Learning that centers critical thinking, collaboration, creativity, and care in every classroom across the district.
2. Strategically building on our current strengths to achieve both equity and excellence for every child.
3. Creating authentic family engagement that positions families as true partners in student learning.
4. Supporting educators by providing strong systems, resources, and opportunities to share best practices.
5. Brave, accountable leadership to guide our district with clear goals, aligned priorities, and strategic use of resources.
6. Leveraging opportunities- especially universal Pre-K and City partnerships– to close achievement gaps through early and effective interventions.
Education is my passion, my area of expertise, and my life’s work. It would be an honor to serve on School Committee and to earn your number one vote.
